By using PPSRAssetCheck.com.au, you agree to comply with these Conditions of Use, which apply to your use of our site and your access to PPSR/NEVDIS information via our service. We submit your serial number and asset type to the relevant official sources and deliver the official PPSR certificate and any NEVDIS information (where available). We do not alter, validate or independently verify government-sourced data. 

All searches are performed via official government channels. All searches are subject to the Personal Property Securities Act 2009 (Cth), the PPSR General Conditions of Use, and other relevant terms set by the Australian Financial Security Authority (AFSA). 

1. Agreement to Applicable Terms 

Your access is subject to:

  • PPSR General Conditions of Use (as applicable)
  • PPSR Account Terms of Use and PPSR B2G Access Terms and Conditions  
  • Terms for third-party data services (e.g., NEVDIS) 

These conditions operate along side our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy.

2. Accurate and Authorised Use 

By using this site, you confirm that: 

  • All information you provide is true, complete and not misleading 
  • You are authorised to use this service on your own behalf or for your organisation
  • You will not submit false, frivolous, or misleading searches 
  • You will only use PPSR data for lawful and authorised purposes 
  • You are responsible to entering the correct serial number and asset type; incorrect inputs can return incomplete or unrelated results and fees still apply per search

3. Lawful and Responsible Conduct 

You must not use PPSR services to: 

  • Create or support misleading or fake registrations
  • Conduct searches without a legitimate reason 
  • Resell, scrape, harvest or bulk-download PPSR/NEVDIS information, or provide it as part of any commercial information service 
  • Interfere with or misuse PPSR functionality or results 
  • Reverse engineer or attempt to bypass security controls or rate limits

Knowingly providing false or misleading information or documents may constitute an offence under sections 137.1 and 137.2 of the Criminal Code (Cth). 

Unauthorised access or misuse of PPSR or NEVDIS data may also result in civil penalties, liability for damages, and/or privacy breaches under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth). 

4. No Ownership of PPSR Data 

You acknowledge that all PPSR and NEVDIS data remains the property of the Commonwealth or its data partners. 

Your rights are limited to lawful access and use for your personal or business-related security interest checks. You may not: 

  • Reproduce or distribute search results 
  • Store PPSR information for any external data service 
  • Claim any ownership over the data provided (except as permitted by law)

5. Privacy and Data Handling 

Personal information you provide is handled under our Privacy Policy in accordance with the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs). AFSA and state/territory agencies handle their data under their own privacy frameworks (see AFSA’s Privacy Policy).

6. System Access and Technical Availability 

PPSRAssetCheck.com.au relies on external systems managed by AFSA and Austroads (NEVDIS). We cannot guarantee uninterrupted access to PPSR services. 

You acknowledge that: 

  • PPSR and NEVDIS data is provided “as is” and “as available” 
  • Searches may fail if data is unavailable, outdated, or the VIN is incorrect 
  • Where NEVDIS information is unavailable or incomplete, this alone does not entitle you to a refund unless required by law.
  • Scheduled outages or unexpected downtime may affect search results 
  • Tasmanian stolen vehicle information is not provided via this service. For corrections or stolen-status queries, contact the relevant state/territory authority or police

7. Security and Your Responsibilities 

You must take all reasonable steps to maintain the security of your account or access credentials, including: 

  • Using secure passwords and devices 
  • Preventing unauthorised use or disclosure of access information 
  • Notifying us immediately if you suspect misuse or a data breach 

8. Service Changes and Access Restrictions 

PPSR features or availability may change without notice. In line with AFSA policy, we reserve the right to: 

  • Suspend or refuse access at any time 
  • Restrict access to specific search types or data 
  • Comply with requests from AFSA or law enforcement agencies 

9. Disclaimer 

To the extent permitted by law, all PPSR and NEVDIS data is provided without warranties of any kind. 

We make no guarantees about the completeness, accuracy, or reliability of the data returned. PPSRAssetCheck.com.au and its operators are not liable for: 

  • Errors or omissions in the data 
  • Delays or outages in the PPSR system 
  • Any loss or damages incurred as a result of using this service 
  • Our site content and reports are general information only and are not legal, financial or professional advice

10. Consumer Guarantees and Refunds

Nothing in these Conditions limits your rights under the Australian Consumer Law. If our service fails to meet a consumer guarantee (for example, not supplied with due care and skill or within a reasonable time), you may be entitled to a remedy such as resupply or refund for a major failure. If a report is not delivered due to a technical issue, contact us so we can promptly resupply it or, if we cannot, provide a refund.

We may provide notices via this website, email, or other contact methods provided by you during your search. By using this site, you consent to receive such notices electronically.
